Woodside Library
Dudley

– Overview –
Woodside Library opened in 1894 and was refurbished in the early 70s, but in 2008 the library was closed and left empty. The work on the library was not an easy task, but it was the perfect building to see the skills and craftsmanship needed in 19th century Black Country.
During our time on site at the library we have found some interesting pieces, from a piece of architrave on the stairs with the name Joseph Round hand written on the back, to a time capsule filled with news papers (Read more about the time capsule in the Black Country Bugle), handwritten note’s and a letter (to the Earl of Dudley).
